Neck Lift

Conveniently located to serve St. Petersburg, FL and Tampa, FL

A neck lift is a surgical procedure that smooths and tightens the skin of the neck, which can sag from aging or weight loss. A neck lift can be performed alone or as part of a facelift. By removing some fat and resuspending the deep neck tissues, a neck lift can rejuvenate the neck, improve the jawline and create a younger, more rested appearance. A good neck lift candidate is in good physical and emotional health, is a non-smoker, and has realistic expectations about the outcome of surgery. The results of a neck lift can last up to 10 years.

NECK LIFT PROCEDURE

A neck lift begins with a small, inconspicuous incision underneath the chin and one around the ear extending into or along the hairline behind the ear. Some fat is usually removed from the neck with liposuction and direct removal. Then the bands of the neck are tightened to improve the appearance of the central neck. The deep neck tissues are then accessed from the incision behind the ear and are tightened and resuspended. The incisions are well hidden and usually heal imperceptibly. Neck lifts can be performed in the office or in the operating room with either sedation or general anesthesia.

RECOVERY FROM A NECK LIFT

Most patients go home the same day and return to work about a week after surgery. After surgery, it is normal to have some temporary numbness, tightness or discomfort in the surgical areas which resolves with a little time.

RISKS AND COMPLICATIONS OF A NECK LIFT

After neck lift surgery, patients can expect to have improvement of the jawline appearance, less banding in the neck, improved wrinkles, improved neck contour and an overall younger, more refreshed appearance.
